Best of all, this recipe requires no baking and just three ingredients! No kidding.

Your pup will keep their “eyes on the prize” while you’re making these tail waggers!

Give this recipe a test drive and you’ll agree.

Ingredients:

3 cups | Rolled Oats
1 cup | Sugar-free, Organic Peanut Butter
1/2 cup | Milk, Soy Milk, Broth or Water

What To Do:

1. Hand mix all the ingredients in a medium-sized bowl.

2. Using a melon baller or spoon, scoop out the mixture and hand roll.

3. To clean hands, hold opposable thumbs and neighboring fingers in front of your pup’s nose (shown at left).

4. Store treats in the fridge or freezer.

5. Serve! Then bow… you just scored some high fives.

Yields about 75 treats. A puppy pack pleaser.

Let’s get rollin’ with these easy pleasers.

Ingredients:

1 | Cage Free Egg, Beaten
2-1/2 cups | Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 cup | Dry Milk Powder
1/2 cup | Chopped Dried Cherries
2/3 cup | Water

What To Do:

0. Preheat oven to 350ºF.

1. In a large bowl, stir together all of the ingredients. Add more water, if needed, until the dough is soft and work-able.

2. On a lightly-floured work surface, roll the dough 1/4″ thick.

3. Using your favorite pup-inspired cookies cutter, cut the dough into desired shapes (hearts, bones, kitty cats, etc.) and place on a greased cookie sheet.

4. Continue cutting and re-rolling until all the dough is used.

5. Bake in oven 25 – 30 minutes, until crisp. Transfer to a rack to cool.

Today I took my Labs “Boomer” and “Harley” to my Vet’s office to have their teeth cleaned.

My Vet offers a new non-anesthetic procedure which means I don’t have to worry about any negative side-effects from using anesthesia on my dogs, who are now 6 years old. The process is quite effective and I just leave them there for a few hours for the procedure.

The American Veterinary Dental Society reports that 70-85% of dogs and cats show signs of oral disease by age 3. Not only will a clean mouth make your doggie more pleasant to be around but some studies have shown that improved oral hygiene can actually add years to your dog’s life… and that means more years you share together.

And who doesn’t want more of that?

Quick Tips:

♥  Our Vet suggests this type of cleaning at least twice of year (the same as humans). Our cost was about $160/dog per treatment for Cavitron scaling, polished teeth and a chlorhexidine oral rinse. Not bad when you consider the long-term benefits.

♥  Once the procedure restores their teeth to a pearly white, why not consider taking some pictures of the new smiles, or scheduling a professional photo session?

A true tail-wagger, this holiday scent can also be an easy gift-giving idea for friends and family. You can bottle the ingredients in a Mason jar (or a cello bag, sans the water) then tie-it-up with a ribbon or two.

Ingredients:

3 Sticks | Cinnamon
3 | Bay Leaves
1/2 | Lemon, Halved
1/4 cup | Whole Cloves
1/2 | Orange, Halved
1 Quart | Water

What To Do:

1. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.

2. “Sniff-in” the holiday scent; do not eat/drink.

3. Re-fill water level often and discard contents when you’re done with it.

Cheese and carrots are two favorite doggie tastes. Put them both together into these healthy, hearty muffins and you’ll be your dog’s best friend forever (like you aren’t already)?! The best things come in twos, so let’s get started!

Ingredients:

1 cup | All-Purpose Flour
1 cup | Whole Wheat Flour
1 tablespoon | Baking Powder
1 cup | Grated Cheddar Cheese
1 cup | Grated Carrot
2 large | Eggs
1 cup | Milk
1/4 cup | Vegetable Oil

What To Do:

0. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
1. Grease a muffin tin or line it with paper baking cups. Yields 12 big dog or 24 petite-sized treats.
2. Combine the flours and baking powder and mix well.
3. Add the cheese and carrots and use your fingers to mix them into the flour until they are well-distributed.
4. Pour mixture over the flour mixture and stir gently until combined.
5. Full the muffin cups 3/4 full with the mixture.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes @ 350°F, or until muffins are “springy.”
7. Let the muffins cool before your doggie dear enjoys some cheer.
