Give Back To Those Who Have Given To Us
Flying Doggies! was formed on the basic belief that we humans should help animals in need on behalf of the special souls who have given so much to us. It's what we call our "Giving Back" policy. Before you checkout, select from the rescue groups shown below and Flying Doggies will donate 10% of your purchase* to help provide financial support to groups that need our help.
There are thousands of animals in North Texas alone that are in desperate need of our help, so let's help them right now! It's that simple.
Metroplex Mutts
Their mission? To give metroplex animals a second chance at the life they deserve through our rescue, medical, foster and adoption programs.
Metroplex Mutts pulls animals who would otherwise be euthanized from local shelters and provides them with medical attention and foster homes until they are adopted. There's also a "street dog" program which encompasses not only the dogs that their members find, but those that other people find either as strays or those living in deplorable conditions. Metroplex Mutts rehabilitates these dogs and provides training if necessary to put them into stable and loving homes. Current critters in need.
Operation Kindness
The mission of Operation Kindness is to provide quality care for homeless or unwanted cats and dogs in a compassionate, no-kill environment until they are adopted into responsible, loving homes. "OK" strives to be a leader in our community in promoting humane values through education and awareness.
Founded in 1976, Operation Kindness is the oldest and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas. They have saved more than 55,000 animals since their inception. "OK" cares for an average of 200-250 animals on a day-to-day basis, with another 60-80 animals in foster homes. More than 2,800 dogs and cats are adopted from Operation Kindness each year.
Operation Kindness is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and receives no government funding. All of their income comes from donations from individuals and businesses, adoptions, fund-raising events and the sale of pet-related merchandise. More information is available via the Operation Kindness online site.
Paws In The City
Paws In The City is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization committed to ending the abuse, neglect and overpopulation of Dallas area dogs and cats. Their goal is that every adoptable dog and cat get a loving home. By providing money for spay/neuter and increasing the adoption rate, they take an important step to make Dallas a no kill city.
Paws In The City has spent many years rescuing and healing the abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and cats of our community. They have placed dogs and cats into foster homes and then into adoptive homes. They conduct offsite adoptions for the City of Dallas municipal animal shelter because they kill almost 30,000 animals each year. Add-in the metroplex, and it climbs to 200,000. Every dollar raised goes to foster, adoption, medical and spay/neuter programs. More information is available via Paws in The City's online site.
SPCA | Dallas
The SPCA of Texas is a leading animal welfare agency in North Texas with two shelters and two spay/neuter clinics located in Dallas and McKinney. It serves as an active resource center providing an array of programs and services that bring people and animals together to enrich each others' lives.
In 2008 alone, they adopted/placed over 8,500 animals. More information at their online site.
